Elizabeth Okare, a Simenya secondary school teacher started this basket-making project in 2006 to provide youth with an activity outside of school. Mothers and Grandmothers soon got involved in this cross generational project and it evolved into a method of raising funds for the Western Kenya Girls Scholarship Fund and Growing Hope Together. Both organizations are run by volunteers and 100% of the basket proceeds goes directly to the organizations. With your help, we can make a difference.
